90 Degrees and Counting

It only seems like a few days ago we were all wishing for spring and warmer weather. Well, I haven't even made it to June yet and I am ready for fall. I guess its my fluctuating age ( I don't know whats up with that....lately it just goes up, up, up!!), but I just can't stand the heat. I have tried to finish up all my yard projects early, as I knew I wouldn't be able to be outside on hot days. Even early mornings are already sultry with the heat that is inevitable.

I have to host a baby shower at my home in about two weeks. This will be the first time I have had more then 3 or 4 people at my house since I moved here, so I am, of course, doing way more cleaning then is really necessary! These wall hangings are what I painted for the "honored baby". I painted them to coordinate with the nursery bedding. I have since had dozens of people ask about buying them and I would love to make the extra money.

I am not sure people are really willing to pay enough to make it worth my while. I might be able to do them with a little less detail, and have them still be as cute. Here is a closeup of one; honestly, what would you pay for this? (assuming you were into spending money on baby nursery stuff)

We probably do not get the heat here that you are experiencing but I too find that my tolerance for heat is not what it used to be.

And as for the wall hangings.. they are lovely. As a soon to be grandma X2 I do believe there would be a market for these. As a matter of fact, my new little grand niece has very similar hangings representing her name on her nursery wall. Something to think about.

That's funny - my tolerance for heat has incresaed and my tolerance for cold is diminishing.

Those are beautiful paintings - they sure do look like a lot of work.

Hello! Thank you for stopping by and sharing some kind words. =] If you don't mind, I'd like to link you, and I'll definitely be back for more! And, I love love love those wall hangings you created. They are incredible! You could even look into selling them at www.etsy.com (I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure that's the right website) it's a website for handmade creations kind of like ebay. Have a wonderful day, friend!!

Are you kidding me? These are the cutest paintings! I don't know how much work they really are and, as you would probably have the compete with the Made in China things we find at Pottery Barn Kids and other mass stores, I think it's worth researching a little about pricing before starting to buy supplies if you think of making them in a bigger volume. But, really, I think that there is a huge market for custom made ones if you really treat them as pieces of art more than nursing decoration. This way, you could also get the input from people before working on their project.
