Joy

Like everyone else, I haven't had much time for blogging these last few weeks. I have been busy with the upcoming holidays, busy at work and just generally ....well, busy! I did take a day or 2 off work and finished this painting that is to be a gift for my sister. I am very happy with how it turned out; it looks good in my house so if she doesn't like it...it has a happy home with me!
My son will be home in a week, so I am trying to get my house clean and some decorations up. I don't do a lot of decorating, but I do have a real tree every year. I need to have the smell of pine and the twinkling lights to make me feel like I am ready for Christmas. The holidays make me happy, even in tough times. I hope this is a happy time for you and your family and I hope each of you has joy in your life this holiday season. I also hope you take time to remember those who suffer financial or personal hard times. Share what you can, no matter how small it seems. Share your joy any way you can. Happy Holidays to All.

Is the beach with the beach with the tide rolling in on a foggy day? It's exquisite.

What a wonderfl gift to present your sister with. Such things are always the best types of items to receive, those in which personal effort and artistic imagination has actually been employed.

So much more goes into painting a portrait or writing a poem than simply buying something from a store.

We had a real Christmas tree every year until the Christmas I was thirteen. I still miss it.

By the way, you're quite the talented artist!

It really is quite beautiful Pat. It's one of those things that grow into your life as the years go by, becoming a part of your personal history. This painting, and others that you've done for her, will surely be part of your sisters lifemarks as she gets older. More than a memory, a gift that will bring peace and reflection, to her last days.

That's beautiful.

"I need to have the smell of pine and the twinkling lights to make me feel like I am ready for Christmas." Oh, I agree completely.

I'm dying to know - did she *love* it? The painting is spectacular.

She did love it...it is very peaceful and serene in her bedroom...it has a clean simple look. I loved it myself, now I have to do one for me! Thanks for the comment!
